Currently 50% of the business comes from exports.
Andalusia is experiencing the best moment in its history in international markets, with record exports, which have exceeded 32,000 million euros in 2018. This is thanks to the success of Andalusian companies such as the García Morón group, dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees, the transformation of the fruit into virgin olive oil and other by-products of the same origin and its commercialisation.
Founded in 1850 in the town of Arjonilla in the province of Jaén, the company is now run by the fifth generation of the family saga.
90% of its oils are of the picual variety, the most common variety in the province of Jaén and with important organoleptic properties. Its annual production reaches 2,000 tonnes of virgin olive oil, marketed both in bulk and in bottles under the García Morón brand. In fact, the fact of exhibiting its products under its own brand has been one of the main milestones for the Jaen-based company, Juan Manuel García, Manager of Aceites García Morón, points out.
Aceites García Morón projects its future in the commitment to a new line of business oriented towards olive oil tourism to promote the culture of the olive grove both nationally and internationally.
Currently, exports are an important commercial channel for Aceites García Morón, as 50% of its turnover comes from international sales. Today, the company has commercial experience in all continents, although sales in Europe, Asia and America are particularly important. Its Manager, Juan Manuel García, points out that “the Andalusia brand has become a seal of guarantee and international quality in the olive oil sector”.
Aceites García Morón has been supported by Extenda-Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion in both direct and inverse missions, international fairs, brand promotion, consultancy and continuous information. “Extenda does a very important job in promoting Andalusian companies and products. It does a very important job of accompanying us so that we don’t feel alone,” argues Juan Manuel García, the company’s manager.
